The Cycle of Content Publishing Continues

Do you see what’s happening right now in the world of book publishing? We’re all becoming authors, or at least, we all have the opportunity to become authors. Amazon and others have made it super-easy for us to upload content in book form, and according to the stats, we’re taking advantage of it.

Julien Smith wrote a great post about what I’ve been talking about. There IS a big shift happening. And the shift is very similar to what has occurred before. Let me explain.

Remember when blogging started to become huge? I started my first blog in 2001, so I’m ten-years in at this point. I remember the amazing feeling I had when I discovered blogging. It was a feeling that I could share my thoughts and expertise with the world, without gatekeepers.

Then YouTube came out, and inexpensive cameras like The Flip cam, and everyone was able to produce, and distribute, video content without gatekeepers.

Now books. Anyone can take their expertise or short-story, and easily and quickly upload it to be sold online in less than 24-hours. Amazing!

The question to you is, what are you waiting for? Do you still feel like you can’t do it? Remember how you felt when you first learned about blogging, or YouTube. Remember feeling the same way? That you couldn’t do it?

It’s the same thing here with books. You CAN do it, and you don’t need an agent, or a publisher to do it.
